The Kremlin said it shot down two Ukrainian drones and accused Kiev of trying to kill Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Two marches targeted the Kremlin… the two devices were disabled,” the Kremlin said in a statement, describing the operation as “a terrorist act and an attempt to assassinate the President of the Russian Federation.”
The statement said, “Two drones targeted the Kremlin, and as a result of the timely measures taken by the army and special services using radar warfare systems, the two drones were disabled.”
And “as a result of the terrorist act, the president was not harmed, his agenda did not change, and he continues as usual. There were also no casualties during the attack and from the scattering of shrapnel from the drones on the Kremlin territory.
The Kremlin confirmed that the May 9 Victory Day parade will take place in Moscow despite the incident, according to Russia’s state news agency Tass.
