A Moscow court arrested a Crimean native in a treason case

Crimean-born Lenya Umerova was arrested by the Lefortovo court in Moscow in a treason case, reports RIA Novosti with reference to the press service of the court.

“The court granted the request of the investigator for the election concerning Umerova LR preventive measures in the form of detention,” the statement said.

It is specified that Umerova is charged under article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “treason”, she faces a prison term of up to 20 years.

It is also reported that Umerova, who left Crimea in 2015, was returning home to visit her father and was arrested along the way.

Earlier, the Federal Security Service announced the detention of a resident of Khabarovsk on suspicion of treason – it is assumed that he transferred funds to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
