Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

the ban on drones in the regions of the Russian Federation risks setting back the industry for five years

After the drone attack on the Kremlin, a ban on drone flights in the regions could seriously hit the industry and cause the drone market size to shrink to 2018 levels. It could cause damages of up to 10 billion rubles, according to manufacturers and developers of unmanned aerial vehicles, reports Kommersant.

Producers and developers of unmanned vehicles estimate the loss of earnings for companies operating in prohibited regions at 3 billion rubles. Currently, the ban applies to 40 regions. If the ban lasts until the end of the year, market volume will return to the level of five years ago, warned Gleb Babintsev, head of profile association Aeronext.

Maxim Chizhov, general manager of Agrimax Aero, noted that the agricultural sector could suffer the greatest losses. According to his calculations, the industry as a whole will lose 2.4 billion rubles, including lost revenue, losses of developers and manufacturers of unmanned vehicles.

Recall that one of the unmanned aerial vehicles exploded over the Senate Palace, where the residence of President Vladimir Putin is located. According to official figures, no one was injured, there was no damage and the duplicate of the presidential standard was not damaged.

Russian authorities blamed Ukraine for the attack. Representatives of the Ukrainian authorities deny their involvement in the incident. In Russian cities, a ban on the use of drones has been introduced.
