Now that King Charles III is crowned, it’s worth remembering that he’s been Britain’s Crown Prince for over seven decades, and so all eyes have been on him for decades.
It is therefore not excluded to recall some obscure facts about the king.
1 He Takes His Mayonnaise Seriously
It was reported around the turn of the century that Charles, then a prince, was not happy when he visited the Czech Republic. The reason was that he didn’t have his favorite mayonnaise. The Crown Prince couldn’t imagine having his egg sandwich without Hellmann’s mayonnaise, but it was nowhere to be found in the Czech Republic. There were a lot of problems and the mayonnaise was sent to him on the first flight in a so-called diplomatic plane, and the matter was solved so that the prince could have a sandwich for lunch.
2 He Had A Car That Was Running On Wine
So the story goes that Karl has an old Aston Martin car, which he received as a birthday present when he was 21, which runs on organic fuel extracted from excess English wine production. He also owns luxury cars such as Jaguar, Audi and Range Rover, all of which run on old biodiesel.
3 The first heir to graduate
Karl became the first crown prince of the royal family to graduate from college. But he has a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Cambridge University.
4 He’s Not Good At Choosing Gifts
The story goes that Karl is not particularly good at choosing gifts. One example is a gift he gave in 2003 to musician Ozzy Osbourne. Ozzy was recovering from a quad accident at the time, but the prince decided to send him well wishes with a gift – which was a bottle of British whisky. However, Ozzy had become an inactive alcoholic by this time, so his wife was not particularly thrilled with the gift.
5 He Wrote A Children’s Book
Karl decided to try his hand at writing in 1980 and wrote and published the children’s book The Old Man Of Lochnager, but he first wrote the story for his younger brother, Játvárd.
6 Artistic King
It was not enough to publish a book, but Karl was also involved in other artistic fields. He paints surprisingly good watercolors and plays the cello. It is probably the watercolors that bring him the most in his pocket, but it is said that in the years 1997-2016 he earned more than 345 million in present value by selling his paintings. He also dabbled in acting, but in the boarding school he attended as a child as well as in college, he took part in productions and belonged to drama clubs.
7 He Was Bullied
Being a crown prince isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Karl said that in kindergarten he was an outsider and no one wanted to befriend him. He was teased and even abused as his classmates attacked him, punched him and pulled his ears.
8 He Tried His Hand As A Weather Reporter
Karl decided to present the weather news when the BBC in Scotland celebrated its 60th anniversary.
9 Plastic film drama
Thus, it is said in a book on the royal family that one day Karl let out a loud cry and was terrified when he saw that a plastic material, the identity of which he did not know, was on his food. The story goes that then his wife, Kamilla, wrote back to him and said, “It’s a food movie, honey.”
10 He Is Called The Godfather
Or at least 32 people who have Karl as their sponsor.
Weren’t ten facts enough? Here are a few more.
It is common to clear an object on the heads of members of the royal family. Karl had the honor of having an entire species of frog described in his head, the species is called hyloscirtus princecharlesi. He produces his own brand of whiskey called Barrogill. They say he loves the Harry Potter movies. He broke royal tradition by attending the birth of his two sons. He and Princess Diana were the same height. In 1975, Karl became a member of the Magic Circle, an organization of magicians. But Karl is said to have passed the entrance exam with a trolley that contained a cup and a ball.
