Ukraine’s Digital Transformation Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said the training of 10,000 combat drone operators for the Ukrainian military has been completed. He specified that in the near future 60 companies would be formed from them to take part in the hostilities.
The Ukrainian minister recalled that the training was carried out under the Army of Drones program launched by Kyiv in July last year. Currently, the Ukrainian government is developing a new doctrine for the use of drones.
The fleet of unmanned combat aircraft in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine is constantly growing. To date, dozens of models supplied to Kiev by NATO countries are known with certainty: Bayraktar TB – 2, Switchblade, UJ – 22 Airborne, Shark, Puma and many other attack and reconnaissance drones. In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have at their disposal the Tu-141 Strizh drones left after the collapse of the USSR and hundreds of homemade drones.
The events of the past week have shown that Ukrainian strike drones pose a real danger to Russia. Recall that in just three days an oil depot in Taman was attacked by UAV drones, the Ilsky oil refinery in the Krasnodar Territory was hit twice, and the arrival of the UAV on the dome of the Palace of the Senate in Moscow can be considered the highlight.
