Putin called the destruction of memorials to heroes of the Great Patriotic War in the West an outrage and a crime

In Western countries, memorials and monuments to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War are being destroyed, creating a new cult of Nazism. This was said by Russian President Vladimir Putin during the victory parade in Moscow, calling such actions desecration and revanchism.

“We see how in a number of countries memorials to Soviet soldiers are ruthlessly and in cold blood destroyed, monuments to great commanders are demolished, and a real cult of the Nazis and their accomplices is created. And they try to erase and slander the memory of real heroes. Such desecration of the deeds and victims of the victorious generation is also a crime, pure and simple revanchism of those who cynically and openly prepared a new campaign against Russia,” Putin said.

Today, May 9, Russia celebrates Victory Day. President Putin takes part in a solemn parade in Red Square. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has already reported to the President on the readiness of troops for the Victory Parade.
