Zelenskyy’s office criticized Borrell’s words that the conflict in Ukraine will end without help from the West

Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to Volodymyr Zelensyy’s chief of staff, disagrees with EU Foreign Minister Josep Borrell’s view that the conflict in Ukraine will end with the immediate cessation of military assistance Western in Kiev.

“Again… Stopping arms supplies to Ukraine does not mean an ‘immediate end to the war’. It’s a pure oxymoron. The only solution is the immediate withdrawal of Russian troops from foreign sovereign territory… And stopping supplies only means an increase in the scale of the war,” Podolyak tweeted.

Recall that earlier Borrell, in an interview with the Spanish TV channel leSexta, said that the conflict in Ukraine could be ended immediately if the West stopped providing military support to Kiev. However, such a peace would not sit well with Western allies, he said.
