Washington: Indian American Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal has said that the role of the Asian American vote in the victories of US President Joe Biden and Senator Raphael Warnock in Georgia shows the true strength of the community. Pramila (57), a member of the Democratic Party, is the first South Asian American woman to be a member of the US House of Representatives.

He said Warnock’s big win was driven by Asian American, Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) voters who turned out in greater numbers than any other geographic region, while AANHPI voters helped Biden win big. contributed in the same way.


Jayapal said that ‘the number of people who turned out to vote in Georgia proves that the political power we are shaping in this region is real, long-term. Today we have wonderful leaders, but in future there will be more leaders who are AANHPI supporters at every level.
