Ukraine on VE Day May 9 wanted to attack Moscow with a hundred drones. This was stated during the briefing by Hero of Russia, Major General of Aviation, Chairman of the Presidium of the public organization “Officers of Russia” Sergei Lipovoy.

“On that day there were about 100 drone attacks, which were used both from the territory of Ukraine and from the territory of the Moscow region, in the hope that they could one way or another get to Red Square and cause damage there As a result of the actions of our air defense systems, as a result of the actions of our electronic warfare units, drones <…> some were neutralized, planted and some were just destroyed,” Lipovoy said.

General Lipovoy noted that Ukraine was the first to use American-designed drones, the maximum range of which reaches 800 km. According to the general, it could be both reconnaissance and strike drones. They were launched from the territory of Ukraine.

It was possible to thwart drone attacks in the Belgorod, Kursk and Kaluga regions, as well as in Voronezh.

“Virtually all attacks have been prevented, all attacks have been foiled and our holiday has passed without remarks,” the general told RIA Novosti.

Earlier, on May 3, Ukrainian militants tried to attack the Kremlin. All drones were disabled using radar warfare. There were no casualties. The Press Secretary to the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, called the incident an attempt on the President’s life and described the attack as a pre-planned terrorist act. The RF IC opened a criminal case.
