Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Pakistani intelligence warns, violent protests may start with the release of Imran Khan

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Intelligence Bureau (IB) has written to the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad and the Inspector General of Islamabad Police to secure all government buildings and properties, including police lines, in the event of the release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan. Appealed to take all necessary measures. This has been mentioned somewhere in the media reports. The agency has issued two separate letters. In a letter, he recommended securing the premises where Imran Khan is currently kept, as well as the surrounding buildings, to prevent any untoward incident in the event of a possible threat of attacks by miscreants.

In a letter addressed to Islamabad Chief Commissioner Noor-ul-Amin Mangel and Islamabad Police IG Dr Akbar Nasir Khan, the IB said Imran Khan has been making inflammatory statements against institutions, resulting in violent incidents across the country. Are. The letter also states that PTI protesters have damaged government and private properties. In addition, protesters blocked the road leading to Islamabad airport for hours and food supplies were not allowed to enter the city.

Protesters in the form of a mob took the law into their own hands in Islamabad. They damaged and set fire to public and private buildings. According to the IB’s letter, the release of the former Pak PM is likely to elicit significant backlash from protesters against institutions that threaten the lives and property of citizens. Therefore, to counter the situation, security of government buildings and properties including police lines should be increased.

The situation demands that security measures be taken to thwart the ambitions of the miscreants, the letter reads. The letter warned that if Imran Khan is released, mob backlash against institutions could intensify, leading to possible loss of innocent lives and property. IB has suggested that effective preventive measures should be taken to counter the nefarious designs of miscreants.
