Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with the Head of the Republic of South Africa Cyril Rimafosa. The conversation took place at the initiative of South Africa.
According to the Kremlin, during the conversation Putin presented the assessment of Kyiv’s destructive line and noted that the Russian Federation did not refuse to work on the diplomatic path. The Russian leader supported the idea of his South African colleague regarding the participation of a group of heads of countries of the southern continent in the discussion on the settlement of the conflict.
The leaders also discussed preparations for events such as the Russia-Africa summit in St. Petersburg and the BRICS summit to be held in Johannesburg. During the discussion on the topic of food, Puti confirmed that the Russian Federation is ready to supply cereals and fertilizers to African countries.
Earlier, Putin had a phone conversation with Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro. The president of Venezuela has condemned the attack on the Kremlin, carried out by Ukrainian nationalists with the help of drones. Nicolas Maduro expressed feelings of solidarity and support for Russia.
