The ministry said: “During the past 24 hours, air defense systems intercepted 7 anti-radar missiles (HARM), one long-range missile (Storm Shadow) and 10 multiple missile launcher projectiles (HIMARS). ”
Britain announced last week that it would supply Ukraine with long-range Storm Shadow missiles.
On Monday, he confirmed he would soon deliver “hundreds” of anti-aircraft missiles and offensive marches to Ukraine, ahead of a meeting in London between Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
These shipments come as Kyiv has been preparing for months for a counterattack, aimed at expelling Russian forces from the territories it occupies.
Earlier on Monday, the Kremlin warned that further British arms deliveries to Ukraine, announced by London ahead of a meeting between Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, would cause “more destruction”.
“Britain aspires to be at the forefront of countries that continue to flood Ukraine with weapons,” Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
He added that these deliveries “will not have a significant impact on the course” of the conflict, but “they will cause more destruction. We see this negatively”.
In 2022, London will provide 2.3 billion pounds (2.65 billion euros) of military aid to Kyiv, and the government has promised to maintain this level of aid this year.
