Denmark says it’s too early to make a decision on F-16 transfer to Ukraine

– Published on:

The Danish government is studying the possibility of transferring F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, but there is no decision on the supply yet and it is premature to talk about it. This was stated by Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lekke Rasmussen, commenting on US President Joe Biden’s statement to the training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 aircraft.

“It is too early to make a decision. It makes no sense to train someone to fly an airplane if you have decided in advance that they will never be allowed to fly on it,” Rasmussen was quoted as saying by TASS.

Earlier it was reported that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called it premature to discuss Ukraine’s NATO membership, since Kiev does not meet the proper parameters, and announced new arms deliveries to the Ukrainian conflict zone, promising to equip Ukraine with Western-made weapons.
