Jaipur. At least 12 persons were killed and several others injured in separate incidents due to heavy rains in Rajasthan’s Tonk district. An official gave this information on Friday.
Heavy rains accompanied by strong wind lashed several areas of the district on Thursday night, leading to loss of lives and damage to houses.Tonk District Magistrate Chinmayi Gopal said the injured were admitted to various hospitals in the district.Gopal said That since night the active workers are trying to assess the damage caused by the rain.
Gopal said that after the report is prepared, compensation will be provided to the eligible persons as per the government rules. The District Magistrate said that at some places water and electricity supply has been reported disrupted, which the administration is making efforts to restore. .
During the last 24 hours (till 8.30 am today), Jaipur tehsil recorded 6 cm of rain, while Malpura in Tonk, Laxmangarh in Sikar, Pilani in Jhunjhunu, Baunli in Sawai Madhopur, Hindaun in Karauli, Sambhar in Jaipur, Chaksu, And Sarwar of Chomu and Ajmer recorded 5-5 cm of rain. One to four cm of rain was recorded at many other places of the state.
