Head of Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan: If we combine our desires with China’s capabilities, then we could achieve better results

From May 22 to 24, a Tatarstan delegation headed by Rais of the Republic Rais Minnikhanov is on a working visit to China. The delegation includes 42 representatives of the Republic of Tatarstan, including Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Oleg Korobchenko and such large companies as KAMAZ, Grid Company, Tatenergo, Nefis Cosmetics, Alabuga SEZ and others.

The leaders of the republic took part in the plenary session of the Russian-Chinese business forum, as well as in the Anhui-Tatarstan business forum. The Russian delegation was led by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. The Chinese side was represented by Li Qiang, Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China.

The delegation also visited the JAC Motors factory, where the Moskvich car was successfully tested at the test site. In addition, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan met with the leaders of Shanghai Launch Automotive Technology Co.Ltd and the governor of Anhui province Wang Qinxian.

“The prospects for cooperation with China are enormous and there is mutual interest! This is evidenced by the fact that more than a thousand participants from Russia and China, including industrialists, came to the Russian-Chinese Business Forum. China is positively inclined to work with Russia and is ready to launch projects. But we must build mutually beneficial relationships. Yes, we have a lot of empty niches that need to be filled. But there are those types of goods and equipment that we can and should produce ourselves, especially the most critical ones. It is necessary to develop our own machine tool industry, microelectronics, production of computers, household appliances, agricultural appliances, equipment and machine tools. But there are areas where Chinese partners can be attracted,” said Oleg Korobchenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, expert of the Russian-Chinese Committee for Friendship, Peace and Development. — We have enormous potential for joint activities – we have, for example, well-established and proven aircraft manufacturing technologies. And in China, there is a well-established mechanism for research and development, prototyping and mass production of goods. We could consolidate our efforts with our Chinese partners to increase and improve the production of aircraft and other equipment. We also have developments in agriculture, energy and many other industries that are of interest to Chinese investors. If we combine our desires with China’s capabilities, then we might get better results. »

Speaking at the Anhui-Tatarstan forum, he presented the industrial and commercial potential of the republic, referring to major enterprises, special economic zones and TASED.

“There are two economic zones in Tatarstan and there are also 5 TASEDs, more than 100 industrial parks and sites,” said the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan. “Tatarstan is an active region in introducing advanced innovative technologies to Russia.”

He pointed out that Tatarstan serves as a sort of bridge between the European and Asian parts of Russia, being an entry point for foreign companies.

The main sectors of the economy of Anhui Province are the automobile industry, the production of building materials, medicines, food, logistics, energy and financial services. There are over 8,500 high-tech companies in the province.

“Mutual interest in the development of our trade and economic cooperation is also evidenced by Tatarstan’s foreign trade turnover with China, which is increasing every year,” said Oleg Korobchenko. – In 2022, a record value of the indicator was reached – more than 1.6 billion dollars. Growth over the previous year was over 58%.

Tatarstan has signed 7 agreements with the provinces of Anhui, Shandong, Hunan, Sichuan, Heilongjiang, Zhejiang and the city of Chongqing.

Recall that in Beijing there is a trade and economic representation of the Republic of Tatarstan, in Kazan – the Consulate General of China.
