Severe Heatwave Grips Madhya Pradesh, Relief Expected as ‘Biparjoy’ Cyclone Approaches

After three days effect of cyclone 'Biparjoy' will be seen in MP

The scorching heat, which has been going on for the last week in Madhya Pradesh, continued on Thursday as well. It was scorching hot here throughout the day. The temperature in Tikamgarh reached 43 degrees Celsius, while the mercury in Sidhi, Khajuraho remained above 42 degrees Celsius. In 11 cities including Bhopal, Gwalior, and Jabalpur, the temperature remained above 40 degrees Celsius. However, after scorching heat throughout the day, it rained heavily in the evening in the capital Bhopal.

According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of the ‘Biparjoy’ storm can be seen in the state after three times. Meteorologists say that after creating a low-pressure area in Rajasthan, the storm can cause rain in the Gwalior and Chambal divisions of Madhya Pradesh. Before this, there will be an effect of strong heat in the state.

Here, after scorching heat throughout the day in the capital Bhopal on Thursday, it suddenly became cloudy in the evening and it started raining. It rained heavily for about half an hour, which brought relief to the people from the heat. During this, the electricity failed in many areas of the city.

HS Pandey, a senior scientist of Bhopal Meteorological Centre, said that cyclone ‘Biparjoy’, which formed in the Arabian Sea, has drawn all the moisture from the state. Due to this, the weather is clear in the state and there is the effect of heat. On the other hand, Rajasthan is also hot. Because of this, hot winds are coming from there to Madhya Pradesh. The effect of heat is more in the border districts. The storm will move to Rajasthan via Pakistan. It is likely to rain there on June 16-17. Because of this, the weather will change in Madhya Pradesh as well. Warm winds will turn into cold winds. There will be some relief from the heat.

The effect of ‘Biparjoy’ will be seen from June 18

According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of the severe cyclone ‘Biparjoy’, which has risen from the Arabian Sea, will be visible in Madhya Pradesh from June 18. Due to its effect, winds will blow at a speed of about 50 kilometers per hour. Along with this, there may be heavy rains in the districts of Ujjain, Gwalior, and Chambal divisions. Clouds will remain in the remaining districts of the state as well. Along with this, the activities of rain will start increasing with thunder and lightning. People will get relief from the heat due to fall in day temperature.

Mamta Yadav, senior meteorologist at Bhopal Meteorological Centre, told that cyclone ‘Biparjoy’ has hit the Jakhau coast of Gujarat. After Gujarat, it will move towards Rajasthan. Due to its effect, on June 18, there will be strong showers along with high-speed winds in the Ratlam, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Agar, etc. districts of the Ujjain division. Due to moving in the northeast direction of ‘Biparjoy’, it will affect West Uttar Pradesh, North Madhya Pradesh, and North-East Rajasthan on June 19. Because of this, 50 km in all the districts of Gwalior, Chambal division. There will also be heavy rain with winds blowing at a speed of more than 100 km/h. A Yellow Alert warning has also been issued for the above areas.

Monsoon will be active after the cyclone advances

Senior meteorologist Ajay Shukla told that due to ‘Biparjoy’, the monsoon has stopped after moving ahead of Kerala. The monsoon is not progressing due to the non-availability of the required energy. Monsoon will be active again after ‘Biparjoy’ weakens and moves ahead. However, there is a possibility of the monsoon reaching MP after about a week.
