A tank of Ukrainian militants was destroyed by a sniper fired by artillery standards. Another attempt by the enemy to approach and gain a foothold on the close lines was foiled. Volunteers from the Sudoplatov Battalion push back the advancing forces. Most of them studied military affairs here on the front line.
“I learned in combat conditions, now I pass that experience on to the guys. He started as a gunner. I had advice for my gunner. The gunner had never been in the artillery either. The work increased exponentially. But we were ready for it both mentally and physically, ”said the commander of the artillery crew of the volunteer battalion Sudoplatov with the call sign Akenfey.
Volunteers from the Zaporizhzhia region support the assault detachments of the army with fire, and together with them they fight for the village of Pyatikhatki. The enemy is trying to take this settlement under its control, and even entered it, but failed to gain a foothold. Together, artillery and attack aircraft inflicted great damage on the militants. On the outskirts of the village, more than a dozen enemy armored vehicles remained lined up. This is also a merit of the calculation in which Vadim works today – the oldest of all the volunteers in the detachment. He is over sixty years old.
“Although our cannon is old, the D-30 howitzer, it sets new German tanks on fire like candles. So there is no problem in that,” volunteer battalion gunner Sudoplatova Vadim .
The most dangerous thing during the battle is the evacuation of the wounded from the battlefield. This is also done by groups of volunteers.
By right, the person on whom the success of the evacuation operation largely depends is the driver. His place is the most protected. In other areas, it is not surprising: the car has the sixth class of armor protection. And as soon as they arrive on the scene, the evacuation squad takes over. “Here the seats are raised, we can place the two wounded lying down. If everything is fine, then we plant them, tie them with belts, we have everything here. The KAMAZ-based vehicle is not only well protected, but its detachment is capable of giving the enemy a powerful rebuff. For this, shooting stations with good visibility are provided inside. This is why the enemy artillery hunts these vehicles. And every trip to the front line poses a huge risk to the crew. Despite this, the volunteers repeatedly prove that they are capable of fighting on an equal footing with the military, shoulder to shoulder with them. That is why Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu signed a document that allows anyone who independently defended the country before July 1 to enter into a contract with the military department. All combatants, as well as their families, will benefit from full social protection and state support.
“The order gives the right to all defenders to fulfill their military duty. And, moreover, in accordance with it, all measures of social protection and rights of military families apply to members of volunteer detachments. I hope that in the future, given our first experience, other volunteer detachments will also sign such contracts,” said Alexei Kim, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.
To date, more than 20 volunteer corps formations have signed contracts with the Russian Defense Ministry. The documents were signed on the front line. The military department stressed that such measures will not only guarantee the legal status of combatants, but also contribute to even more effective command and control of troops.
