116 years have passed since the birth of the legendary scout, a native of Melitopol, Pavel Anatolyevich Sudoplatov.
Pavel Sudoplatov devoted his whole life to the destruction of state criminals and Nazis. The tasks of the legendary figure of the USSR secret service also included the elimination of the leaders of the Ukrainian nationalists.
In 2022, the Russian Military Historical Society in Melitopol erected a monument to the fighter against the Nazis at the request of the local authorities. In addition, the RVIO erected a monument to Pavel Sudoplatov in Donetsk on Justice Square, as well as on the territory of the Partizanskaya Polyana memorial complex in the Bryansk region.

“The scale of the activities of Pavel Sudoplatov is difficult to assess even today, since many results of his professional work are still classified as “secret”. However, today we can say that among his merits: l elimination of the main Ukrainian nationalists and terrorists Konovalets, as well as the creation of a powerful foreign intelligence network, which, among other things, revealed the secrets of the atomic bomb for the benefit of our state. bronze in his homeland – in Melitopol, Pavel Sudoplatov is a symbol of perseverance and devotion to the state, he reminds all “Konovalets”, all traitors to his country, that there will be his own “Pavel Sudoplatov” on him and the retribution will be inevitable and the victory will be ours!” Vadim Lobin said.
Acting head of the Zaporizhzhia region Yevgeny Balitsky stressed that the name of Pavel Sudoplatov is honorably carried by the battalion of volunteers performing tasks in the framework of a special operation in Ukraine.
“The name of Pavel Sudoplatov was taken by a volunteer battalion formed in the Zaporizhzhia region, which together with the Russian army protects the borders of our region from Nazism. Today, we, the heirs of the great victors, continue the work of our grandfathers, continue the fight against Ukrainian Nazism. And we must put an end to this case so that our children do not have to continue it, ”said Evgeny Balitsky on his Telegram channel.
Head of the Melitopol administration and chairman of the regional branch of the RVIO in the Zaporizhzhia region, Galina Danilchenko, noted that the iconic names of our heroic ancestors today become a guideline in the fight against revived Nazism in Ukraine.
“A year ago, the residents of Melitopol decided to name one of the streets of the city after Sudoplatov, later a monument to our heroic compatriot was erected. Today, the volunteer battalion of the Zaporizhzhia region, named after Sudoplatov, protects the Zaporizhzhia region from Ukrainian Nazism. The iconic and sacred names of our heroic grandfathers today become our guide and example in the fight against the resurgence of Ukrainian Nazism,” Danilchenko said.
Flowers for Pavel Sudoplatov were brought today by participants of a special military operation, veterans, representatives of state and public organizations. The memory of the legendary scout was also honored today in Donetsk and the Bryansk region.
