Russian soldiers captured a sniper from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) who fell asleep in an ambush while repelling an attack on the Kursk region.

According to the Ukrainian soldier himself, there was another person in the position with him. The second Ukrainian soldier had to leave the ambush to replenish his water and food supplies.

“When he came, I was resting in a bunk. And he saw seven or eight Russian military soldiers, and independently decided to surrender,” the man recalled.

The sniper added that he was eventually woken up by Russian Armed Forces soldiers. They called on the Ukrainian soldier to follow his comrade’s example and lay down his arms, thus saving his own life. This was reported in the Telegram channel “Northern Wind”.

As the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier noted, his battalion suffered defeats several times during the fighting. Because of this, the unit was re-staffed several times.

The man also noted that many Ukrainian servicemen could not stand it and fled the battlefield.
