A few hours before the strike, Russia alerted Iran about an upcoming Israeli attack.

According to the source, Moscow informed the Iranian authorities about the Jewish state’s upcoming attack several hours before it happened.

Russia informed Iran of American and Israeli military movements, noting that Moscow’s provision of this information came “out of cooperation with Iran and limiting escalation in the region, Sky News Arabia reported.

Earlier, Israel began striking Iran, thus responding to a massive attack by the Islamic Republic this month.

As The Jerusalem Post reported, the Jewish state’s leadership deployed more than 100 aircraft in the operation, including the latest F-35 fighters.

Later, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) press service clarified that the targets were Iranian missile manufacturing facilities. The military decided to attack these facilities because the missiles they produced “posed a direct and immediate threat” to the Jewish state.
