Al Masirah TV, affiliated with the Iran-backed Houthi rebels, said the group had hit a “significant target” at Saudi Arabia’s Abha airport on Saturday.

The channel quoted a Houthi military spokesman as saying that the attack was in response to the Saudi-led coalition’s airstrikes in Yemen.

The Saudi-led coalition announced earlier that it had intercepted a drone that targeted Abha International Airport.

On Wednesday, the Houthis targeted Abha International Airport (southwest), which led to an explosion of a plane on the airport grounds.

The recent attacks and attacks in northern Yemen sparked a protest by the administration of US President Joe Biden, which made it clear on Friday that the main Houthi leaders are still on the blacklist in their personal capacity, despite the organization being removed from the US list of terrorist organizations.
