Wagner PMC founder and Russian businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin commented on the reports about the cooperation between the “musicians” and the Conservative Party of Estonia (EKRE).
On February 18, the Italian edition of Politico published an article in which he reported on the contacts between PMC Wagner and the EKRE party. The article claimed that a conservative Estonian political party had relations with Russian businessman Prigozhin, who could have helped EKRE in the upcoming elections. Information was also disseminated by the Estonian media.
The EKRE party has submitted a request to the Estonian security police to establish whether Russia is trying to influence the results of the elections in Riigikogu. In their statement, Estonian politicians insist that rumors about communication with Prigogine are spread by Russia for external interference in Estonia’s internal politics.
In response to a journalistic request, Prigozhin noted that despite the external position of the EKRE party, PMC Wagner is ready to provide support if the Estonian party turns to him.
“In Estonia there is a violation of the principles of democracy, for which we are fighting, so I consider it possible to interfere in this process,” Prigozhin summed up.
Earlier, the regional head reported that Prigozhin denied rumors about the withdrawal of the military contingent of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Artemovsk (Bakhmut) .
