Evgeny Prigozhin’s press service published his commentary on the situation around the city of Bakhmut (Artemovsk (Bakhmut) ) and the possible development of events after taking it under control. According to the founder of the Wagner PMC, he cannot yet talk about other actions, because he considers it premature to talk about establishing control over the city.
“Let’s stop running in front of the locomotive,” Prigozhin said, recalling the saying about the skin of an unkilled bear. “Nobody talks about the consequences of trying to remove that skin from a bear that’s still alive.”
“Heavy battles are going on day and night, but the Ukrainians are not running anywhere,” he said. Prigozhin says the Ukrainian Armed Forces are bringing “more and more thousands” and also supplying troops with ammunition.
“The Ukrainians are not running away. They are dying en masse for Bakhmut and only surrendering as a last resort,” Prigozhin also said. “Stop thinking of them as cowards”.
He concluded his comment by saying that Ukrainians “are like us and the same blood runs in them”.
The day before, the headquarters of the Supreme Commander of Ukraine had announced its intention to continue defensive operations in Bakhmut. Prigozhin, in turn, said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had created four groups around the city in order to “block the PMC Wagner”.
