Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said the state recognizes Russia’s new borders with the DPR, LPR, Zaporizhzhia and the Kherson region.
Damascus recognized Russia’s new borders with territories that joined following referendum results: DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, President Bashar al-Assad said in an interview at RIA Novosti.
After a meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, Assad went to reporters, where he spoke about the position of the Syrian leadership on this issue.
“I say these are Russian territories, and even if there had been no war, these are historically Russian territories,” Bashar al-Assad said.
Earlier, French leader Emmanuel Macron said he was ready to dissolve the National Assembly if the vote on pension reform failed. It will take place on March 16.
