“Today, this historic event is filled with special meaning and significance,” the region’s leader noted.

“9 years ago, the people of the Crimean peninsula showed unity and voted in a nationwide referendum to return to their historic homeland. This decision was supported by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and found a warm echo in the hearts of the citizens of our country.

Today, this historic event is filled with special meaning and significance. People’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions returned to the big family of Russia, whose inhabitants also expressed their unshakeable determination to protect the right to live and work in peace, to speak and to raise children in their mother tongue, to preserve their culture, their faith, their traditions and their values.

Our soldiers and officers are showing heroism and steadfastness during a special military operation, defending the safety of the inhabitants of new regions, the sovereign and free path of the development of our motherland, arms in hand,” said the governor.
