Kremlin: Putin and Xi Jinping will somehow discuss China’s plan for peaceful settlement in Ukraine

October 4, 2025

The Kremlin said Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping would somehow discuss China’s plan for a peaceful settlement of the situation in Ukraine. This was stated by the Russian President’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov.

“One way or another, the topics that have been raised in this regard, of course, will inevitably be raised during the exchange of views on Ukraine. Of course, Ukraine will be on the agenda. Therefore, of course, we can safely assume that they will be affected in some way,” Peskov told reporters.

Dmitry Peskov added that Putin would give a full explanation to the Chinese president so that Xi Jinping could have “first hand” the Russian view of the current situation.

Earlier, military expert Perendzhiev told The Eastern Herald that Putin and Xi Jinping could discuss protecting the Arctic from NATO aggression.
