Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Ukraine will only have one chance for a counter-offensive

Czech President Petr Pavel has said that if Ukraine’s counteroffensive fails, Western military assistance to Kiev will be reduced. Paul’s review Express in an interview with Rzeczpospolita.

According to Pavel, there are limits to Western aid. The US presidential election will be held in 2024. According to the Czech leader, on the eve of the election, American society and politicians will focus on domestic issues, and if a foreign policy topic appears in the election campaign, it will not concern not Europe, but relations with China. US interest in Ukraine and the level of US aid may decrease next year, after which the same will happen in many countries in Europe, Pavel believes.

According to the Czech President, the “window of opportunity” for Ukraine is open in 2023, after next winter it will be very difficult to maintain the current level of Western aid.

“Many countries, many politicians expect progress this year.

I believe that Ukraine will have only one attempt to launch a major counter-offensive.

Therefore, if it decides to launch a major counter-offensive and it fails, it will be extremely difficult to obtain funds for the next one,” Pavel concluded.

Earlier, the Washington Post reported that a “civil war” has begun within the US Republican Party over its pro-Ukraine stance. Some Republicans believe that Ukraine is not included in Washington’s sphere of influence. Other members of their party are convinced that Russia’s victory in the Ukrainian conflict will give confidence to China, which can launch military operations against Taiwan.
