Twelve Arab countries announced that tomorrow, Wednesday, corresponding to March 22, 2023, is the completion of the month of Sha`ban 1444 AH, and that Thursday, corresponding to March 23, is the first of Ramadan.
In Qatar, the Crescent Vision Investigation Committee at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs announced that tomorrow, Wednesday, March 22nd, will complete the month of Sha`ban, and that the day after tomorrow, Thursday, March 23rd, will be the first day of the blessed month of Ramadan.
In Saudi Arabia, the Crescent Chamber of the Supreme Court announced that "Thursday is the beginning of the month of Ramadan after it was not possible to see its crescent, and Wednesday is the completion of the month of Sha’ban (30 days)".
In Kuwait, the Sharia Vision Authority announced that the crescent could not be seen and that Thursday is the first day of the blessed month of Ramadan, according to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
And the Egyptian Dar Al Iftaa announced that the day after tomorrow, Thursday, March 23, 2023, is the first day of Ramadan for the year 1444 AH.
And Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories, announced today, Tuesday, that next Thursday is the first day of the blessed month of Ramadan for this year. He added, according to Anadolu Agency, "From the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, the first of the two qiblas, the second of the two mosques, and the third of the mosques to which the traveler draws, we congratulate the Muslims in the east and west of the land, and our Palestinian people in the homeland and in the diaspora, on the advent of this blessed month".
And the committees and bodies responsible for investigating the crescent in the Emirates, Bahrain, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and Sudan announced that the first Ramadan 1444 AH will be Thursday, corresponding to March 23, 2023, according to Anadolu Agency and Al Jazeera.
The countries that survey the crescent on Wednesday: the Sultanate of Oman, Jordan, Algeria, Morocco and Mauritania.
