Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

US concerned about Russia-China military alliance

A military alliance between Russia and China would be a risk for the United States, Pentagon chief of staff Mark Milley said at an event hosted by Defense One.

According to him, Washington and its allies need a “geopolitical approach” in which relations between Moscow and Beijing will not lead to the formation of a military alliance against the United States.

He noted that while such an alliance does not exist, it would become a “challenge to the United States.”

“If a war of three superpowers begins, two of which will be against us, it will be a very big challenge,” he said, noting that the United States does not want such a scenario.

“I don’t think war is inevitable, but we have to be very pragmatic and careful,” Milli said.

Previously, US President Joe Biden said that the importance of the rapprochement between Russia and China should not be overstated.
