Xi Jinping urged to start negotiations on Ukraine

China has offered its assistance to France in an attempt to influence the world community so that negotiations between the parties to the conflict in Ukraine begin as soon as possible, Chinese President Xi Jinping has said.

“China stands ready to cooperate with France, urging the international community to resume peace talks as soon as possible, in accordance with the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, taking into account the legitimate security interests of all parties , to seek a political solution (to the crisis), and to build a balanced, effective and sustainable European security structure,” Xi said after talks with French President Emmanuel Macron in Beijing, quoted by China Central Television,

French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Beijing on April 5. He will stay in China until April 7, visiting Beijing and Guangzhou in the south of the country. This is Macron’s third visit as President of the Republic.
