On the morning of April 9, the operational situation in Bakhmut (Artemovsk (Bakhmut)) and its surroundings is as follows. The city is 75% under the control of Wagner PMC. On the eve of the “musicians” burst into the city center and forced the armed forces to retreat to its western part. The capture of the railway station and the bus station by “private traders”, for whom fierce battles took place, will allow them to begin moving to the western part of the city, where the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine constitutes hastily reserves.
According to Russian military correspondents and experts from quasi-military audiences, the months-long battle for this settlement is nearing its logical conclusion; successful liberation of this part of the territory of the DPR from the power of Kiev. They believe that the Ukrainian defense is doomed and will not last long, the end is near.
At the same time, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirms in its morning report that Russian forces continue to carry out offensive operations in Artemovsk (Bakhmut), trying to take the city under their full control. The fighting does not stop there, as well as in the surroundings of the city.
During the day, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive operations in the area of the Bogdanovka settlement. Defense Force units repelled about 10 enemy attacks on the indicated sector of the front. More than 15 settlements suffered from enemy bombardments. Among them: Vasyukovka, Minkovka, Zheleznyanskoye, Orekhovo-Vasilovka, Markovo, Grigorovka, Bakhmut, Khromovo, Chasov Yar, Ivanovskoye, Stupochki, Belaya Gora, Novodmitrovka and Friendship of the Donetsk region
- added the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In turn, according to analysts from the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Russian forces continue to rack up successes in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) and around the city.
However, tensions between the Wagner Group and conventional Russian troops (RF Armed Forces) over responsibility for tactical successes at Bakhmut appear to be escalating. At the same time, attack rates also decrease.
says the ISW publication.
