• 1518 – The Russian Grand Duke Vasily III and King Francis I of France exchange diplomatic messages for the first time.

• 1797 – the coronation of the All-Russian Emperor Paul I and Empress Maria Feodorovna. On the same day, a manifesto was published on the three-day corvée and a regulation on orders, the Order of Saint Anne was created.

• 1803 – Alexander I founds the Imperial University of Vilna.

• 1826 – The Law Drafting Commission is transformed into Branch II of Her Imperial Majesty’s own Chancellery.

• 1866 – DV Karakozov’s attempt on the life of Emperor Alexander II.

• 1889 – a monument to AS Pushkin was inaugurated in Odessa.

• 1898 – the first edition of the works of Maxim Gorky is published.

• 1905 – creation of the first trade union in Russia – the Trade Union of Printing Workers.

• 1911 – in Sevastopol, for the first time, an experiment was conducted to escort ships by air.

• 1913 – Marriage of MA Bulgakov with Tatyana Lappa – his first wife.

• 1917 – the arrival of VI Lenin from exile at the Finnish station in Petrograd.

• 1922 – the signing of the German-Soviet Treaty of Rapallo. Establishment of diplomatic relations between the USSR and Germany.

• 1932 – the production of equipment for the radio center is started at the Leningrad Radio Plant and the first Russian televisions are produced.

• 1934 – By decree of the Central Executive Committee of the USSR, the honorary title “Hero of the Soviet Union” is created.

• 1955 – the first issue of Neva magazine is published.

• 1962 – the research station “North Pole-11” was organized under the leadership of NN Bryazgin.

• 1996 – during the First Chechen War, the 245th motorized rifle regiment of the Russian army was ambushed in combat near the village of Yaryshmardy.

• 2001 — Segodnya newspaper was closed due to lack of profitability.

• 2009 – from 00:00 the regime of the anti-terrorist operation in Chechnya was lifted.
