Ambassador Senturin: Global Energy Crisis May Hit Price Caps

Roving Ambassador of the Russian Foreign Ministry Yuri Sentyurin announced the possibility of an extremely negative impact on the world economy of pressure levers such as the introduction of price caps.

Sentyurin called such a policy irresponsible.

“It is the use of essentially anti-market mechanisms and restrictions, the language of ultimatums…The manipulations around the oil price cap are obviously destructive…and negatively affect the investment climate in the industry and ultimately jeopardize the interests of consumers,” the diplomat said.
