On April 17, in the Tula region, the VII regional championship of professional skills among the disabled and disabled “Abilimpics” began. It is held within the framework of the regional project “Young professionals” (Improving the competitiveness of vocational education) of the national project “Education”.
The Minister of Education of the Tula region, Oksana Ostashko, addressed the participants.
“The Abilympics Championship movement is helping to change traditional views about the potential and abilities of people with disabilities. And this, in turn, provides them with new job opportunities and professional stability. In the Tula region, the number of participants in the competition is growing every year, the skill set is expanding. Participants of the championship break stereotypes, prove that a person is able to overcome all circumstances and achieve success, and thus serve as an example for others, ”said Oksana Ostashko.
In the year of the teacher and mentor, 195 people will compete for a ticket to the final within five days: 90 schoolchildren, 100 students and 5 specialists. Competitors will compete in 32 fields: medicine, industry, economy and finance, services and food, IT, arts and crafts, etc. The championship will be held at 12 venues.
The winners of the competitions will take part in the national championship, which will be held in the fall in Moscow.
