US Department of Justice: Chinese secret police station discovered in New York

US authorities have uncovered a secret Chinese police station in New York, a spokesperson for the US Department of Justice said.

According to him, the site has been operational since February 2022. Two of its employees have been arrested. They are suspected of illegally issuing Chinese documents, providing various “government services”, as well as persecuting dissidents.

“The suspects worked together to set up a police station in Manhattan’s Chinatown on behalf of the Chinese government’s national police,” a spokesperson told reporters.

He added that the United States does not need secret police stations in other countries. He also recognized the Chinese living in New York, if necessary, contact official law enforcement agencies.
