US data on Russia’s losses in Ukraine ‘pulled from the ceiling’

– Published on:

US data that Russia’s military casualties since December amount to 100,000 is “pulled from the ceiling”. This was stated by the Russian President’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov, transmits Interfax.

When asked how the Kremlin could comment on US data on Russia’s casualties, Peskov replied, “Like absolutely shot from the ceiling.

“Washington has no way of giving correct numbers, they don’t have such data, and it should be treated as such,” the spokesperson said.

Peskov urged focusing on the numbers “which are released by the Russian Defense Ministry in a timely manner.”

On September 21, the day the partial mobilization was announced, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that 5,937 Russian soldiers had been killed since the start of the military operation. Subsequent casualty data was not released.

On May 1, US National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby, citing US intelligence data, declared that since December, Russia’s losses in the hostilities in Ukraine have amounted to 100,000 people, 20,000 of whom have been killed. How intelligence received these numbers, he did not specify.
