The UK has officially confirmed that it will send Storm Shadow long-range cruise missiles to authorities in Kiev. This was stated by the head of the Defense Department Ben Wallace during a conversation with deputies. The show was made on the UK Cabinet website.
“It is estimated that the number of Storm Shadows that we plan to transfer (…) is currently sufficient to meet Ukraine’s needs,” Minister Wallace said.
It should be noted that these cruise missiles have a flight range of more than 250 kilometers. Earlier, on May 11, the Kremlin promised to respond to London’s supply of such missiles. The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, said that these deliveries will require “an adequate response from our military, which, naturally, from a military point of view, will take the appropriate decisions in this context”.
In early May, it was reported that the British planned to transfer long-range missiles to Kyiv instead of Apache helicopters. Information was also provided that it was planned to allocate funds for the supply of air defense systems and long-range weapons to Ukraine.
