Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Hungarian Foreign Minister Szijjarto says China’s plan could become basis for peace in Ukraine

During talks in Beijing with Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said that Hungary sees the PRC peace plan as the basis for resolving the Ukrainian conflict.

According to him, the militant rhetoric is very strong globally, so it is necessary to “strengthen the voice of the peace camp”, in which Budapest attaches great importance to the role of the Chinese side.

“We support China’s peace efforts. We are grateful for the peace plan and hope that it will become the basis for discussions on achieving peace in our region,” Szijjártó said at the meeting.

EU Foreign Minister Josep Borrell expressed the EU’s willingness to cooperate with China to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
