Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov admitted that the Ukraine crisis could end with the United States abandoning the authorities in Kyiv when they are no longer needed.
“The United States has abandoned the leadership of Afghanistan, on which it has relied during the twenty years of occupation of this country…I hope that modern politicians will pay attention to the history and the evolution of the relations with a hegemon who wants to impose himself as such on everyone,” he said in an interview. “Tsargrad”.
The minister, answering a question from a journalist, did not rule out that the Ukrainian crisis could end in the same way.
“Political scientists write a lot about this. They predict that all of this will continue as long as Americans need it,” Lavrov added.
According to him, the Ukrainian authorities are in their place, as long as it benefits Washington.
Earlier, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry said that the Russian side has never refused to negotiate on the situation in Ukraine, but freezing the conflict will not resolve the differences.
