The grain agreement does not provide for compliance with the requirements of the Russian Federation. This was announced by Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkey Vasily Bodnar.
“The agreement itself does not provide for the fulfillment of any Russian demands. The agreement itself provides for the mechanisms for the operation of the grain corridor from Ukrainian ports to international markets,” he told a press conference.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that the grain deal had been extended until July 17 inclusive, without any changes. It has been stated that if all issues with the grain deal are not resolved within two months, the deal will be terminated after July 17.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was the first to announce the extension of the agreement. He expressed his gratitude to Putin, Zelenskyy and Guterres for extending the grain deal.
Later, Russia confirmed the extension of the “grain agreement” for two months.
Recall that in March, Moscow decided to reduce the period of the next extension to 60 days, that is, until May 18.
The “Grains Agreement” was concluded between Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the UN in July 2022. It consists of two parts. The first concerns the creation of safe maritime corridors for the export of Ukrainian grain. Moscow and Kyiv reached an agreement separately: each of the parties signed a document with the UN and Ankara. The duration of the transaction was 120 days, in November the parties extended it for another four months.
