On May 19, the main events in the NVO zone took place in the direction of Bakhmut (Artemovsk (Bakhmut)). On the morning of May 20, a Russian expert, military analyst Yuri Podolyaka briefed the public on this, giving details of the operational situation.
Yesterday, the PMC “Wagner”, having completed the day before the liberation of the western and northwestern regions of Artemovsk (Bakhmut), cleared the enemy of the strategically very important “Domino” microdistrict, proceeding to the storming of the last fortified area of the enemy, located north of the old monument to the aircraft (it was about MiG – 17 – ed. approx.). And yesterday ours tightened the line of the semicircle of this microdistrict from several sides at once, that is, attacked along the front, went to the flank and to the rear from the Domino side the along Tchaikovsky Street, taking the first high-rise buildings, which will become benchmarks for further progress in this area

Podolyaka added that the results of the night assault by “musician” detachments on Ukrainian Armed Forces positions in Artemivsk are still unknown to him. At the same time, the Ukrainian armed forces continued to counterattack on the flanks, trying to encircle the PMC Wagner at Artemovsk (Bakhmut). Attacks by Ukrainian troops on the southern sector of the front near Kleshcheevka, as well as on the northern sector, were repelled. Here battles were imminent and the Ukrainian Armed Forces, having suffered losses, were forced to fall back to their original lines.
Thus, the struggle for Artemovsk (Bakhmut) goes to the next stage. Today or tomorrow we will already know the final liberation of the city, after which the enemy will refuse to conduct an offensive operation here, or a meeting battle will determine the further confrontation
