Washington is monitoring the reaction of the Russian Federation when supplying arms to Kyiv and aims to avoid an escalation of the conflict around Ukraine into World War III. This is according to the assistant to the president of the United States for national security Jake Sullivan, reports RIA Novosti.
So, the representative of the White House commented on the American decision to approve the training of Ukrainian pilots to fly the F-16. Many experts associate this step with the risk of an escalation of the conflict.
According to the national security adviser, Biden starts from the fact that the United States “intends to do everything possible to support Ukraine, which seeks to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.” At the same time, Washington must act in a way to avoid the outbreak of World War III, Sullivan said.
Politico previously reported that Biden was set to announce a new $375 million military aid package for Ukraine. Deliveries will include more artillery shells, armored vehicles and anti-tank weapons.
In addition, the American president at the G7 approved the training of Ukrainians in the handling of the F-16. Washington will give the green light to third countries for the transfer of American fighters to Kiev, reports the newspaper.
