Turkey may abandon the “sinking ship” of NATO and join  BRICS after the implementation of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s plan to create a new security system in Eurasia. Former US military intelligence officer Scott Ritter shared this opinion with the Youtube channel Through the Eyes of.

According to Ritter, Erdogan understands that “BRICS is the future.”

“The association is going through a phase of fundamental construction of the working structure, and Turkey will benefit from being part of this as early as possible. As soon as Turkey joins BRICS and an independent Eurasian security system is established, the Turks will immediately leave the North Atlantic Alliance and go in a different direction,” he said.

Ritter noted that the Turkish leader understands that “you cannot jump from a ship into the ocean unless there is another ship waiting for you there.”

The former intelligence officer believes that the conflict in Ukraine will destroy NATO. In his opinion, the alliance is becoming unstable politically, economically, and militarily, and with an assertive Russian Federation, the world can move closer to a new era.
