Israeli forces kill two Hezbollah commanders in Lebanon

IDF operations highlight strategic focus on key militant leaders.

Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee claimed that Israeli army units, including the 91st Division and the Air Force, conducted operations targeting key Hezbollah members in the Khiam area of southern Lebanon.

“The IDF struck and killed Hezbollah commander Farouk Amin Al-ashi in the Khiam area,” the statement said. According to the IDF Spokesperson’s Office, Alasi was “responsible for multiple rocket attacks on Israeli towns and villages in the Galilee region,” including the town of Metula. In addition, “the IDF killed the commander of the Hezbollah Radwan Special Forces Company in the Khiam area, Yousef Ahmad Noun,” the ministry added.

“Israel Defense Forces soldiers continue operations in southern Lebanon.” Israeli troops eliminated several Hezbollah operatives and Radwan militants in the area during close combat and air strikes and also found a large amount of weapons.

In Gaza, the Israeli military said it killed Rafat Ebrahim Mahmoud Akadih, who it said was a Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) fighter who had served as “assistant to the head of the Nukhaba of the Khan Younis Brigade” and “raided Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7.” Statement on Telegram.

On September 23, Israel launched Operation Northern Arrows against Hezbollah in Lebanon, launching massive strikes against the organization’s military targets. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he ordered the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah because his elimination was key to enabling the safe return of residents of northern Israel.

On September 27, Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah was killed in Beirut. On the night of October 1, the Israeli army announced a ground operation in the border areas of southern Lebanon.
