October 4, 2025

Pentagon Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley believes that Russia and China have competing national security interests with the United States. However, in his opinion, war with these countries does not seem inevitable.

He explained that the PRC and the Russian Federation have the ability to threaten American interests and way of life, but at the moment war is not imminent.

In summary, Milley added that it was the international order created after World War II that prevented great power conflict.

In turn, CNN reported that the friendship between China and Russia is becoming a serious test for the United States, since the two countries are opposed to Washington.

Former CIA chief and former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has said current US leader Joe Biden made a huge strategic mistake by allowing Russia and China to come together economically and politically.
