Minister of Defense of Ukraine Reznikov: Ukrainian Armed Forces will start a counteroffensive in April-May
Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov in an interview with Estonian journalists said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will conduct a counteroffensive in April-May. According to him, the operation is already being prepared in several directions. “It depends on the most suitable time and weather conditions,” reports ERR.ee.
Reznikov also called it an important point that Western partners decided to transfer one million shells to Ukraine within a year. He explained that they would be needed to try to break through the defense line of the Russian forces.
At the same time, the Ukrainian minister again spoke about the need for modern fighters. “The MiG-29 (In service with Ukraine – Editor’s note) has a visibility range with its radar of only 60 kilometers, a firing range of only 30 kilometers. For example, modern Russian aircraft, fighters like the Su -35, have a radar sighting range of over 200 kilometers and a firing range of over 100 kilometers,” he explained.
“I think this year we will see very positive changes for Ukraine,” Reznikov added.
Recall that today the press secretary of Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that the main requirements of Russia remained “ensuring the safety of the inhabitants of the new regions and the security of the country as a whole.” At the same time, he pointed out that it is now impossible to achieve these goals in the case of Ukraine using political and diplomatic methods.
