Here are the most prominent local events in April: 1- The end of camping By next April 29, the camping period for the current season will end, and according to the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, based on the directives of His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser Al Thani, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, the Ministry’s Winter Camping Affairs Organizing Committee decided Extending the camping period for the current season until next April 29 instead of April 1, in the northern and central regions of the country.

2- For Qatari students, one thousand riyals, and for international students, other benefits. By next April 12, applications for the Talented Program for Qatari students and admission grants for non-Qatari students (including international students) will end. The applicant must upload the required documents through the electronic admission application for admission, and admission decisions will be announced on May 30, 2023. Non-Qatari students can apply for admission grants for talented people in the fields of scientific research, technology, innovation, literature, art, media and sports, for which those accepted receive an exemption From tuition fees and exemption from book fees, a monthly salary of 1,000 Qatari riyals, and a guarantee of admission to the program that the student desires upon achieving the minimum admission requirements for the program (except for the medicine and dentistry programs). As for talented international students, they receive the benefits of international students from Student housing that includes transportation to and from the university campus, annual tickets to the student’s country of origin, and accommodation in the country sponsored by the university. The selection of applicants for these scholarships is done on a competitive basis.

The applicant for the Gifted Scholarship is required to have obtained a score of no less than 80% in the general secondary school exam, and to have fulfilled the minimum admission requirements for the program in which he wishes to join. 3- Applications for re-admission to the undergraduate level for students who dropped out will end by next April 5. Receiving applications for re-admission to the bachelor’s stage in the fall of 2023 for dropped out students who have previously studied at Qatar University will end, starting from March 26.

The university identified the colleges available for application for fall 2023, namely: the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Engineering, the College of Business and Economics, the College of Law, the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, the College of Education, the College of Nursing, and the College of Medicine and Dentistry. The university also identified six categories of students who are entitled to apply for readmission, namely: students who have withdrawn or been absent from the university for more than four consecutive or intermittent semesters without prior approval, as well as students previously accepted in the foundation program who have been absent from the university for more than two semesters.

4- The Qatar Cup derby By next April 6, as announced by the Qatar Stars League, the date for the final match of the Qatar Football Cup 2023, which will bring together Al-Sadd and Al-Duhail teams, will take place at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium in Al-Sadd Club, at ten o’clock in the evening Doha time, and Al-Sadd was It qualified for the final match by defeating Al-Arabi in the semi-finals, while Al-Duhail qualified after defeating Al-Wakra.

5- The Garangao Festival The Garangao Festival is one of the special celebrations of the State of Qatar and the Gulf region. The Garangao Festival takes place on the night of the middle of Ramadan, which corresponds to the 6th of next April. It is a celebration and a special season for children.
