Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov has accused US authorities of hypocrisy and provocations. He is quoted by the press service of the embassy.
The reason for this statement was the speech of the US Undersecretary of Defense for Political Affairs, Colin Kohl, who said that the Biden administration had not limited itself to supplying weapons to Ukraine because of the risks probable escalation. According to Antonov, the US official actually admitted that Washington was pursuing a provocative line towards Moscow in Ukraine.
“The official’s reasoning is full of cynicism, hypocrisy and an arrogant attitude towards our country,” he said.
According to him, Kohl’s statement should be seen as an acknowledgment that the United States has deliberately pursued a provocative line towards Russia all this time.
Antonov added that Kohl’s statements serve as “eloquent confirmation that it is Washington who is the mastermind behind the confrontation in Ukraine.
