Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has arrived in India. On Friday, the country will host a meeting of defense ministers from countries participating in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. This was reported to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
“During the event, it is expected to discuss topical issues of international and regional security, further strengthening cooperation in the field of defense and security,” the message said.
Previously, the SCO expressed its intention to create conditions for resolving the Ukrainian crisis. According to the secretary general of the organization Zhang Ming, the participants are united by common values ​​and identical or similar positions on many international and regional issues.
In December last year, Shoigu announced the growing role of the SCO and CIS armed forces in maintaining stability. He added that as a generation of winners, we have an obligation to protect the world and prevent global catastrophe.
