What happened to the people affected by the great earthquake 100 days after it happened?

– Published on:

After a hundred days, several questions arise. What is the fate of those who are homeless or who were waiting in hope for a house to shelter them?.. Has the world managed to work together to limit the losses of this earthquake? And where have the efforts of international organizations gone?

Do you remember those cries?.. Do you remember those long hours?.. A man searches for what is left of his family, another holds his daughter’s hand.. and a child teaches the world a lesson in courage and love.

Families and large numbers are sleeping on the cold ground and taking shelter from the rainy and snowy weather, so where are they all after hundred days of the great earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria.

Unfair distribution

Despite all the aid and donations that followed the disaster, rumors of its inequitable distribution to those displaced by the earthquake, whether in Turkey or Syria, resounded from the first days of the disaster.

News about the sale of tents for the displaced in Turkey and video clips in Syria reveal the lack of food and scarcity of medicine.

In addition to the issue of northern Syria, whose inhabitants have suffered the most serious conditions, including delays in decision-making, negligence in the delivery of aid and the closure of crossing points, noting that the Syria extended the delivery of humanitarian aid to northern Syria a few days ago for another three months, at the request of the United Nations.

In Turkey, promises have been made to build 200,000 homes for those affected by the earthquake. Days pass, and some of those affected are still sleeping in tents. One hundred days after the great earthquake in Syria and in Turkey, the promises are still on the table. The plans are in the intentions of those responsible.. and the hopes are in the hearts of those concerned. .

Mai Al Sayegh, communications and media officer at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies for the Middle East and North Africa.

Journalist Hisham Gunay / from Istanbul says, in an interview with Sabah, “Sky News Arabia”:

The situation is dramatic in the earthquake zones, the victims are still living in tents. Waves of rain, dust and mud increase people’s suffering. The Turkish government is trying to help these people, but so far their situation is not required. There is a shortage of medical supplies.. There is a lack of aid distribution mechanism.. There is a stampede which the affected person witnesses daily. The issue of earthquakes has been raised strongly on the election agenda and there has been great publicity here that the government has helped those affected. The voter took care of his interests and voted for the government of Erdogan, that is, he sees that if the government changes, he may not see the promises made by the government to ErdoÄźan. Promises made by the government to deliver the houses within a year.. Rubble removal alone can take a year or a year and a half..so these promises are just election promises.
